Maggie started Irish dancing at the age of 3, but in 2015 she was diagnosed with a swollen Achilles.
Along with her brother and cousin, Maggie Carmody started Irish dancing for the Dennehy School of Irish Dance when she was 3 years old. Throughout the years Mags has found a passion for dance and has increased her practice time. She attends practice 8-15 hours per week. She has competed on both a regional and National level and her team won both the Midwest Region Championship and North America Championship last year.
In September of 2015, Maggie began complaining of heel pain. The school foot doctor diagnosed her with a swollen Achilles. She wore a walking boot for several weeks and also did physical therapy at ATI. Her Achilles is now healed and she continues to do the exercises she learned at ATI. Maggie looks forward to future competitions and St. Patrick’s Day shows, especially since her birthday is on March 17th.
