An Analysis of ATI Physical Therapy's Senior Patient
To better identify and educate patients and physicians on trends within specific patient populations, researchers at ATI Physical Therapy have released a report based on the analysis of data from more than 160,600 senior patients (65 and older) seen throughout ATI’s 700+ clinics from 2016-2017. The report evaluated age, gender, BMI, most treated body part and patient satisfaction rates. Among the data, research uncovered that 71% of the patients were found to be overweight or obese and the most common body parts were shoulders, lower back and knees.
ATI queried data is from ATI’s Patient Outcomes Registry, part of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality’s Registry of Patient Registries1. The ATI Patient Outcomes Registry data is collected through ATI’s proprietary electronic medical record system. The data is automatically gathered in real-time and is archived for analytical and scientific use—allowing clinicians to focus on their patients, not data entry. The ATI Patient Outcomes Registry provides ATI the opportunity to analyze outcomes, trends and key statistics of patients over time with the intention of improving the healthcare system and the patient experience.
