DOES INSURANCE COVER VIRTUAL THERAPY?

A vast majority of in-network benefits are eligible for virtual therapy. If not covered or in states where ATI does not have a large physical footprint of clinics, ATI will work with the patient to find a solution.

1. Request an Appointment

We’ll review your request and help determine if online physical therapy is right for you. 

Request your appointment

2. Verify Your Information and Schedule

Once verified, we'll contact you to set up your first video session with your therapist.

Don't worry—we will work around your schedule and confirm a time that's convenient for you. You can expect your first appointment to last about 60 minutes.

3. Begin Telehealth PT

You'll get an email and/or text confirmation of your first online physical therapy video session with all the details.

If you have any technical issues when you first try to log in, please contact your therapist.

4. Keep it up!

Online Physical Therapy is just like in person therapy, and requires some homework from you. Please stay up to date with the program plan your therapist recommends to solve your ailments, reduce your pain, increase your range of motion, and get you well.

What is a virtual physical therapy session?

A virtual physical therapy session enables you to have the same interaction with a therapist remotely that you would in the clinic. You still get 1:1 contact with a therapist and guidance and feedback for your individualized therapy treatment.

How long is a virtual physical therapy appointment?

Sessions typically last 60 minutes. However, this may be modified based on your symptoms and the goals for treatment. 

How can I schedule a virtual physical therapy session?

Talk with your therapist or request an appointment online. 

What equipment do I need for a telehealth physical therapy session?

You will need the following:

  • Desktop or laptop computer, tablet or mobile phone with a working camera and microphone
  • Reliable internet connection
  • Comfortable clothing and space that will allow for movement
  • Any exercise equipment prescribed by your therapist

Is virtual physical therapy secure?

Yes, we are HIPAA compliant.

Will my insurance plan cover virtual PT?

Insurance coverage for physical, occupational and speech therapy services provided through telehealth visits is rapidly changing. We will work with you to review your insurance coverage and give you all of the information you need to make the best decision for your care.

What if I need an interpreter?

ATI provides free aids and services to people with disabilities to communicate effectively with us, such as: Qualified sign language interpreters and Written information in other formats. ATI also provides free language services to people whose primary language is not English, such as: Qualified interpreters and Information written in other languages. If you need these services, notify your Therapist or call 855-928-2905.

What if I want to see my therapist in-person?

Talk with your virtual therapist to discuss your options. ATI has a large footprint of clinics, we can work with you to find the nearest ATI Clinic to you. We want to empower you with options that help you stay committed and consistent with your care. We may also be able to offer a hybrid treatment plan of in-clinic and virtual sessions.
