Perryville residents in need of physical therapy and sports medicine services now have convenient access to the nation’s leading physical therapy provider. ATI Physical Therapy is continuing expansion in Maryland with the opening of its new Perryville clinic, located at 4853 Pulaski Highway. Perryville is the second of three new ATI clinics scheduled to open in early 2015, preceded by Elkridge and to be followed by Laurel in mid-February.
Laura Winterberger, PT, DPT, ATC, CSCS, will lead the team as the Perryville clinic director. She holds both a Doctorate of Physical Therapy and Master of Science in Athletic Training from Shenandoah University. Laura has been with ATI Physical Therapy for three years and previously treated patients at ATI’s Rising Sun location. She welcomes patients of all ages for a variety of orthopedic conditions, and enjoys working with the pediatric, sports medicine and workers compensation population. In her spare time, Laura enjoys horseback riding, running, crocheting/crafting, and going on adventures with her dog and fiancé.
Located on Route 40 in the new Principio Medical Complex, ATI provides a hands-on treatment plan unique for each patient, designed to reduce pain, improve mobility and prevent future injuries. Rehabilitation services include manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, strength training, cardiovascular conditioning, sports-specific training, and therapeutic modalities, such as ultrasound and electrical stimulation. As the Official Sports Medicine Provider for all five Cecil County Public High Schools, the new location will also support student athletes at Perryville High School in need of physical therapy services.
“We are excited to have the opportunity to become members of this community and offer residents the extraordinary care that ATI Physical Therapy is known for,” said Tom Ballenger MSPT, Cert MDT, cWcHP, Regional Director for ATI Physical Therapy. “We are proud of the relationship that has been established by our Sports Medicine team with Cecil County Public High Schools, including Perryville. We are looking forward to bringing best in practice standards to Perryville, which has been happening in North East, Rising Sun, and Havre de Grace for the past 10 years.”
ATI offers complimentary injury screenings and expanded hours, plus accepts virtually all major insurance carriers. Unique to the industry, ATI’s dedicated in-house research department aims to improve patient outcomes through basic science, research and evidence-based medicine. This includes the ATI Patient Outcomes Registry, a collection of data that supports an innovative approach to physical therapy that improves awareness of patient outcomes and how the rehabilitative process can impact patients’ quality of life.
ATI has received many local, regional and national accolades for its commitment to quality care. The company was named “Best Physical Therapy Company in the Nation” by ADVANCE Rehab Magazine, and has achieved URAC core accreditation recognizing its commitment to quality healthcare. As a way to give back to the communities in which its patients and employees live, work and serve, ATI established the ATI Foundation in 2007. The ATI Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides resources and funding to children with physical impairments.
