Mom Body: What Nobody Ever Told You About the Physical Effects of Pregnancy
ATI Physical Therapy is pleased to offer a class for pregnant women and new moms to educate them on the physical impacts of pregnancy and what can be done to overcome them.
Agenda
Licenced physical therapists will discuss topics including:
- Exercise during and after pregnancy
- Identify the difference between lumbar and SI joint pain
- SI/lumbar supports for back pain
- Proper body mechanics
- The pelvic floor
- Bladder dysfunction
- Abdominal muscle separation (diastasis recti)
- Scar management
Presenters
Rachel Brandt, DPT, WCS
Rachel is a board certified women’s health specialist, practicing with this population for over seven years. During this time she has had many opportunities to speak to women of all ages about pregnancy, postpartum and the pelvic floor. She loves being able to take this knowledge and share with women to make a positive difference in the quality of their lives.
Elizabeth Rogers, DPT
Liz has been practicing as a physical therapist with a specialization in women’s health for the past three years. She has a passion for working with women during and after pregnancy, helping them to develop an understanding of how to manage their bodies, incorporating safe movement patterns and easy strengthening activities into their daily routine.
