Harrison Sindowski
Harrison Sindowski, age 4
Hickory Hills, IL
Harrison, at the age of three months old, started having seizures on a regular basis. The symptoms increased in frequency and intensity until he was diagnosed with a severe form of epilepsy called Lennox-Gestaut Syndrome, just before his third birthday. The uncontrolled seizures at such a young age have caused severe global delay, which puts this four-year old at an 18-month-old development level.
While they have finally found a medical intervention that has ceased the consistent seizures, Harrison’s progress and improved situation can take a turn for the worse at any time, as this is the unpredictable nature of LGS.
While trying to keep up with medical bills, they’re also attempting to save some money for a minivan to accommodate assistive equipment and the need for a changing area while on the road, as Harrison is not capable of toilet training. The Sindowskis want to embrace this time with Harrison and include him in everything they do, and their ultimate goal is to drive him to an amusement park for children with special needs.
